Man Robbed in Mankato Apartment Invasion

MANKATO, Minn. - A man who answered a knock on his apartment door in Mankato on Monday was knocked to the floor by several men and robbed.

Mankato police were called to the Highland Hills apartments around 9:22 p.m. on a report of a home invasion and robbery. According to police, the man heard a knock on his door, but the peephole was blocked when he tried to look out into the hallway.

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. - Maplewood police are looking for three men who were involved in a home invasion on Wednesday afternoon.

The home is located at 1741 Edgerton Avenue in Maplewood. A woman was in the home at the time of the incident around 4:30 p.m.

Rash of burglaries reported in Marion Township neighborhood

Police are asking residents in Marion Township to be more vigilant about locking their doors after two more burglaries were reported in the area Thursday morning.

According to Rochester police Lt. Casey Moilanen, between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday, a house in the 1800 block of 36th Avenue Southeast was burglarized after the resident had left a garage door open overnight.

A gunman shot through the front window of an Eagan home Tuesday night, killing a husband and wife in their living room before turning the gun on himself.

Eagan police called the double murder-suicide one of the most brutal acts of violence in the city's history.


No known motive. This is possibly a random double murder.

Frazee, Minn - A man broke into a rural Frazee home and stole a 32- inch-flat screen television and then took off on an ATV Monday, according to the Becker County Sheriff's Office.

A female homeowner, allegedly saw 21-year-old Anthony Block leaving her home and followed him to a nearby residence while calling the Becker County Sheriff's Office.

Burglar uses doggy door

A doggy door proved the perfect entry point for a burglar who crawled into a southeast city home while the residents slept Tuesday night and fled with more than $700 in cash.

Sgt. Scott Behrns with the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office said family members were home and heard noises, but fell back asleep.

They also heard their dog growling, but didn't think anything of it, Behrns said. When they awoke, a purse and wallet containing more than $700 in cash and keys to the family car were gone.

St. Cloud police are investigating a burglary that happened Saturday morning at a residence with people inside.

Officers were called about 5:13 a.m. to the 300 block of Fifth Avenue South. Police met with victims, a 23-year-old St. Cloud woman and a 26-year-old St. Cloud man, who said they woke up to the burglary, according to a St. Cloud police report.
